About this new role
We are seeking an experienced Clinical Manager to lead contemporary, best-practice nursing and care services and drive high-quality clinical outcomes for residents, clients and families across our Residential Aged Care, Home Care and Retirement Living services.
Reporting to the General Manager – Residential Aged Care, you will provide strong clinical leadership, mentor and develop clinical teams, strengthen governance and compliance, and contribute to continuous improvement and our evolving clinical model.

Key responsibilities
Residential Aged Care (Liscombe House)
- Lead and embed a contemporary, person-centred clinical care model.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant requirements (including Quality Standards, AN-ACC, WHS and infection prevention).
- Oversee resident assessments, care planning, evaluation and documentation.
- Build trusted relationships with residents and families, facilitating regular meetings and meaningful engagement.
- Lead, support, coach and supervise clinical teams; drive performance, capability and accountability.
- Own clinical professional development, including performance appraisals, skills gap analysis and the annual clinical training calendar (e.g., falls and wound champions).
- Clinical workforce planning: staffing numbers, leave coverage and skills mix aligned to resident acuity and needs.
- Drive clinical governance such as audits, incident and trend analysis, reporting (including internal and Board/sub-committee reporting where relevant).
- Manage clinical incidents, hazards and near misses and implement improvements to reduce risk and improve systems.
- Support complaints management responses and actions in line with policy.
- Support operations and budgets to ensure services are delivered safely, on time, and with fit-for-purpose equipment.
- Chair or contribute to multidisciplinary meetings and clinical excellence working groups (e.g., MAC, dementia/palliative care).
Home Care & Retirement Living (clinical support)
- Provide clinical leadership and expert guidance to operational teams (Case Managers, Operations Manager, Site Supervisors).
- Support contemporary care planning and documentation, clinical audits, incident trend analysis and continuous improvement.
- Provide clinical expertise (e.g., dementia care, palliative care, infection prevention, pain/medication management, escalation/acute intervention).
Essential criteria
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Demonstrated Senior Clinical Leadership experience across residential aged care and home care and/or retirement living.
- Strong knowledge of aged care regulatory requirements, accreditation/quality standards, and clinical best practice.
- Proven ability to lead, mentor and motivate multidisciplinary teams and build a high-performance culture.
- High-level skills in clinical governance, risk management, incident analysis, reporting and continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong planning, prioritisation and problem-solving capabilities; able to work autonomously and meet deadlines.
- Strong computer literacy and confidence adopting/using clinical and reporting systems.
- Commitment to privacy, confidentiality and respectful, person-centred care.
Desirable
- Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Lead qualification (or willingness to attain).
- Post-registration qualifications in gerontology/advanced aged care nursing (or similar).
- Evidence of ongoing professional development.
