Job Description

We are seeking a Resident Support Worker to create a supportive and inclusive work environment that values diversity and fosters professional growth.

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Ordering of required food for kitchen when requested by supervisor.  

  • Delivery of meals to cottages and apartments when required. 

  • Cleaning of Apartments, cottages and communal areas in accordance with Residents needs and as per roster including bed changing and residents washing. 

  • Maintain a clean, tidy and welcoming Communal Centre and apartment lounge. 

  • Maintain records of completion of scheduled duties. 

  • Practice safe storage and use of cleaning agents 

  • Maintain confidentiality of all personal information of Residents and Resident families 

  • Preparation, cooking, serving and delivery, if required of meals according to the menu and Food and Safety Program. 

  • Maintain a clean and tidy kitchen. 

  • Practice safe and correct storage of food items. 

  • A flexible and enthusiastic attitude toward undertaking a variety of tasks, and demonstrated commitment to ongoing quality, with a team approach is expected. 

  • Conduct the morning turn card check at commencement of shift. 

  • Respond appropriately to all resident’s concerns, queries or complaints and liase with the Housekeeper supervisor or Residents' Coordinator when Residents' needs change. 

  • Document on Lee Care/platinum any relevant Resident progress notes/hazards/incident reports. 


What you will bring (must-have):

  • Relevant experience within retirement village /community organisation 

  • A caring and patient disposition and ability to maintain confidentiality. 

  • A demonstrated understanding of the needs of the elderly. 

  • Ability to prioritise workload. 

  • First Aid certificate or the willingness to obtain one. 

  • Current Police Check. 

  • A working knowledge of the aged care industry. 

  • Cleaning and cooking experience. 

Appointment is subject to satisfactory Police Check, required vaccinations (including COVID), maintaining right to work in Australia.
